Seasickness
As you will be in the open ocean the wave height and swell can change with weather conditions. If you are in doubt consult your doctor or pharmacist as to the remedies available. We do not provide seasickness remedies.
To help prevent seasickness
1. Get a full night’s sleep the night before the day trip on the water.
2. Eat a good breakfast before leaving.
3. Take remedies as directed – before leaving the wharf.
4. Standing up to get you stabilised when on board and remain outside in fresh air.
5. Looking at the horizon will helps control your balance.
6. Keep yourself busy scanning the water for a sighting and observing the conditions.
7. Eat solid foods for lunch, snacking (biscuits and bread rolls) over the day and drinking water will help balance your sustainability while on board.
*Just remember the boat won’t turn around and drop you off if you are sick.
Conservation Efforts
Marine expeditions have played a vital role in informing conservation efforts. By identifying critical habitats and areas of high biodiversity, scientists can advocate for the protection of these regions. Expeditions have also shed light on the detrimental effects of human activities, such as pollution and overfishing, prompting the creation of marine protected areas (MPAs) and sustainable management practices.
*Every expedition is unique and as we cannot control nature or the weather there is no guarantee on wildlife sightings. However with experience and knowledge of the area we put ourselves in the best location and conditions to get the best opportunity for wildlife sightings.
